BOPP Thermal Lamination Films
BOPP thermal lamination films are lamination films having BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) as base material. We use extrusion coating process to combine layers of BOPP film and thermal laminating adhesive. In the final film one side have properties of BOPP film and the other one becomes heat sensitive surface used for dry lamination.
Advantages of BOPP thermal lamination film
made it popular in lamination business. Wet lamination was used some time back for making laminates. BOPP films have a wide range of aesthetics and hence it is easily possible to have various looks of laminating films. Main features of BOPP thermal lamination films are as follows.
- BOPP film has a density close to 0.91 g/m3 and hence it provides high yield (m2 per kgs) in the same cost with comparison to some other films like polyester films.
- Wide varieties of BOPP films are easily available and therefore BOPP thermal laminating films. For example - Matte, Glossy, Silky matte etc.
- BOPP films have reasonable strength for lamination purpose.
- Excellent gloss, high transparency, good moisture barrier, good chemical resistance.

PET thermal lamination films
PET thermal lamination films are used to get some properties which are available in polyester. Some main properties like high gloss and high stiffness are not in BOPP films. For making PET thermal lamination films we need to follow co-extrusion process.
Wide variety of PET thermal lamination films is available in the market. PET dry lamination films are in wide range of thickness like 25mic to 250 mic with comparison to BOPP lamination films. Since density of PET is 1.4 g/m3, the user gets lesser yield (kgs/area) than other lower density films.

PET dry lamination is done on costly brochures and some basic properties of this kind of laminating films are as follows.

Properties of PET thermal laminating films made it so useful to convert into a growing lamination market. Applications of these films are increasing each day. Some main applications are – Costly brochures, Catalogues, Menu cards, Mark sheets, Maps, Publicity material, etc.
Metallized lamination films
Metallized lamination films are used where silver or golden look is needed and also needs laminating properties. Metallized films are normally used where high aroma barrier is needed but now days these are also demanded in decoration applications.
As we know that in thermal lamination one side is heat sensitive laminating adhesive and the other one is normal film. The metal side is sandwiched between Polyester side & laminating adhesive to make the film extremely scratch resistant. These films are very useful in decoration or higher visual appeal application which requires shining effect.
The metalized thermal lamination also bear a coating of acrylic chemical to suit printing for various kinds of inks, especially UV inks. Main features of metallized lamination films are as follows.
